Cal on Wednesday, 13th Feb 2008

The Nationwide Tour starts the first of two tournaments in Australasia this week, with the 2008 HSBC New Zealand PGA Championship being played at Clearwater Golf Club in Christchurch from 14th to 17th February.

Jarrod Lyle will be there hoping for back to back victories on the tour. He’s no stranger to the course having finished tied for second (one stroke back) in the 2006 New Zealand PGA Championship.

Other Australians at the event will be James Nitties, and Marc Leishman, both of whom had top 12 finishes at Clearwater last year, as well as Peter Senior, Greg Chalmers, Paul Sheehan, Bradley Hughes, Scott Laycock, Scotty Gardiner and Steven Bowditch who was the runner up in 2005.

Following this tournament, Moonah Links will host the ‘Moonah Classic’ from 21st to 24th February 2008.

The Moonah Classic is an Australasian Tour Order of Merit event and updates will be available on the Australasian PGA Tour website.
