Players teeing off early in the morning definitely had it easier than the afternoon group, who had to contend with strong winds coming off Bass Straight. The likes of David Diaz (+6), Marcus Frazer (+7), Steven Bowditch (+8) and Scott Draper (+11) all missed the cut.

Channel 10 is televising the weekend action on their normal channel over the weekend, rather than the HD one

Jarrod Lyle Wins 2008 Mexico Open

Marc Leishman overcame a bumbling Kurt Barnes to take out the 2008 nab Victorian PGA Championship, his fourth Von Nida Tour title.
Barnes led by two shots with three holes left to play but bogeyed all three to hand the title to Leishman.
Leishman now heads to Sydney for British Open pre-qualifying at The Lakes Golf Club.
