It’s been a long time between drinks for Sydney’s Joanne Mills. Okay she’s probably had a few drinks in the ten years between wins, but you know what I mean!
The last time Mills won a tournament was in 1997 and it was the German Open.
On Sunday Mills took out the Wales ladies Championship of Wales with a final round 73.
The win earned Mills £52,500 (AUD$130,850) and a more than welcome boost as she prepares to try to regain her card for the LPGA Tour in America.
“I’m going out to the qualifying school and would love to have a few more seasons in the States. The European Tour has improved dramatically over recent years, but I am in the last half of my career and it would be nice to try and make some money quickly. America is the place to do it.”
