Stephen Leaney Is Off To The 2007 PGA Championship

Leaney was the fourth alternative, but managed to score an invite after the man ahead of him (Jason Bohn) withdrew, and the first two alternatives gained spots due to other results on the weekend.

John Daly made history in 1991 by winning the tournament after being the ninth alternative, and you have to wonder if Leaney is thinking the same thing.

With Leaney in the field, the Australian contingent now numbers 12: Adam Scott, Geoff Ogilvy, Nick O’Hern, Stuart Appleby, Aaron Baddely, Richard Green, Robert Allenby, Rod Pampling, John Senden, Nathan Green, Steve Elkington and Leaney.
