Australians At The 2007 Masters Tournament
Well the 2007 Masters Tournament is on this week, and this year a few Australians seem to be in genuine contention.
Adam Scott is coming off a win in last weeks Shell Houston Open, Aaron Baddely won the FBR Open, and Geoff Ogilvy won last years U.S. Open and so “knows how to win a major”.
Other Australians in the field are Robert Allenby, Stuart Appleby, Nick O’Hern and Rod Pampling.
Some Facts:
Robert Allenby - playing in his 8th Masters Tournament. Best finish is T22 in 2006.
Stuart Appleby - established a Masters record in 2001 playing 50 consecutive holes without a bogey, breaking Ben Hogan’s record of 43 set in 1947 . Best finish is T19 in 2006.
Aaron Baddely - In 1999, was the first amateur to receive a special invitation to the Masters in 25 years. This is his first appearance as a pro.
Nick O’Hern - playing in his third Masters Tournament. Best finish is T19 in 2006.
Geoff Ogilvy - playing in his second Masters Tournament. Finished T16 last year.
Rod Pampling - Played well in his Masters debut in 2005 finishing T5. This has been his best finish ever in a major.
Adam Scott - Fantastic debut at the 2002 Masters. He played all four rounds at par or better, becoming the first, first-timer to accomplish that feat since 1997. Best finish T9 in 2002.
