2007 Motorola International Bintan
The Asian Tour has a new men’s professional tournament, the Motorola International Bintan, which will be played for the first time this year from March 22nd to 25th.
It is one of four tournaments in Indonesia on the 2007 Asian Tour schedule, three of which are new.
The tournament willl take place at the Gary Player designed Ria Bintan Golf Club on the island of Bintan, which is a 55 minute ferry ride from Singapore (Google map).
The 2007 prize fund will be USD$350,000.
Weird observation: Of the six event invitations sent out by the promoter, five of them went to Australians. Peter Fowler, Richard Moir, Andrew Pitt, Lucas parsons and Henry Eppstein were the recipients. The sixth went to a Gareth Paddison, a New Zealander.
