Nathan and Richard maintain their first and second placing’s, still separated by 2 shots, after both carded rounds of 71 today.

With the weather gods being a lot friendlier today, it is surprising there were not that many sub-par rounds. Stuart Applebys’ 68, to move him into a tie for third was the best of the day. He now trails Nathan Green by five shots.

Greg Norman looked like he was going to make an early exit, fighting hard all day for survival, making eagle at the seventh to be five-over after nine, but bogey at 10, double bogey at 11 and another bogey at 15 threatened his chances before he closed with birdie, bogey and birdie to hang on. The gallery following him on Sunday in what will more than likely be his last round of professional golf in Australia, will be huge.

It is good to see Gavin Coles up there on the leader board. He is currently in third place, and last week wrapped up his return to the PGA tour in the States in 2007 by finishing 16th on the Nationwide Tour’s money list.

As for defending champ Robert Allenby - “I’m definitely not looking good for winning the tournament but I think I will make the cut,” Allenby said. “Hopefully I’ll make the cut and be able to shoot a couple of really low ones. Hopefully I will get some nice conditions and I’d be able to shoot eight or nine-under and go from there.”

There’s an awful lot of hope in there….
